There are some people that like to drink it, and some people that like to smell it.
Put the two together and you have deliciousness, harmony, and love.
You can clearly see the chewy in these cookies.
They will definitely be put on my favorite cookie list.
These cookies have been linked to Sweets for a Saturday.
1/3 c. butter
1 c. packed brown sugar
2/3 c. Special Dark Hershey's cocoa powder
1 TBS instant coffee granules
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 egg whites
1/3 c. vanilla yogurt (I used the small 6 oz. size until I measured 1/3 c. (Caramel flavor and cherry vanilla))
1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1/4 c. granulated sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high about 30 seconds. Add the brown sugar, cocoa powder, coffee granules, baking soda, and cinnamon. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in egg whites and yogurt. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Using a wooden spoon, stir in any remaining flour. Cover and chill dough 2 - 3 hours or until easy to handle.
Place granulated sugar in a small bowl. Drop dough by heaping teaspoons into sugar and roll into balls. Roll again in sugar. Place balls 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes or until edges are firm. Transfer cookies to a wire rack and let cool.
*I use baking stones, so my baking time was longer. I also left the cookies rest a few minutes before moving them to cooling racks.
"I am my lover's and my lover is mine; he browses among the lilies."
Song of Songs 6:3
When two lovers unite, they belong to each other, they give themselves to each other unreservedly. No matter how close we may be to our family and friends; only in a uniform relationship can we realize complete harmony of mind, heart, and body.
My friend made something like these this weekend and posted it on facebook. She informed me that since I do not like coffee she was not sending me any lol. I am going to have to make these up for her or share the recipe with her.
