What Do You Do Without A Bun? Fiesta Burger

Hamburger

Avocado

Sharp Monterey Jack cheese

Pico De Gallo

Eggs
What will these five food items create?

A bunless Fiesta Burger!

I found this idea in my son's Men's Health magazine. I put this together and found that I really, really, really like it.
I don't even miss the bun.
I bet if you serve this to your man he will love it. Just tell him that the grocery store was out of hamburger buns, and you've come up with a new way of serving hamburgers.....
Do you think it will work?

There is really no recipe required.

I cooked my burgers on the George Forman, and fried my egg in a little butter.....Assembled it and ate it with a knife and fork.

  1. Hey Friend

This burger looks awesome. I have not had bread nor sugar in 14 days. And this looks great for dinner tomorrow. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Good for you Trace!! When I was cutting out all starches and sugars + exercise, the weight was falling off in buckets, but it is so easy to fall off that way of eating. It's great that you have made it 14 days, keep going....Do you eat sugar free puddings and jell-o? I would think that they would be enough sweet tasting to satisfy the sweet tooth. I have a cupboard full and I'm giving thought to starting the no starches and sugars again.

  5. Yum, this looks SO delicious. I am not a big burger fan, but this made me drool at 7:30 in the morning :-) Have you tried those really thin bread things? Those might make good hamburger buns with a lot less bread.

  6. Yes, I have tried the thin sandwich buns and I love them. Definitely less calories...

  7. This looks soooo tasty! I love ALL your additions for this 'simple' burger. I don't like a big bun for any sandwich and really am enjoying the thin deli buns for sandwiches. Thanks for sharing this idea...and for inspiring me to cut back on the carbs! =)
