Pumpkin Pie in a Container.....

Have you tried this? It doesn't say "NEW" on it anywhere, but I've never seen it before. It must be a seasonal item.

This stuff is great!

And I'm thinking, Country Crock is kind of like a margarine/butter product right? This pumpkin spice butter tastes just like pumpkin pie. But anyway, back to my thinking....I wonder if this could be used in place of the shortening or butter that goes in pie crust?
Help me out here pie crust makers.....Do you think it's possible?
I don't make pie crust, but I bet this would be great under a pecan pie, or apple pie, or even a pumpkin pie.
Or what about it melted into a graham crust??? ALRIGHT, I'm heading to the kitchen with my container of Country Crock pumpkin spice.....

Also, I don't think the nutrition label is all that bad.
Help me out here Mary Howard....What do you think?

I had to add some Omega 3 (walnuts). Walnuts go hand in hand with pumpkin pie, right?
That's what I thought.

  1. You did good! Nutrition label is not bad at all and you covered yourself by adding the walnuts..lol. I will have to try this. Maybe on banana nut or zucchini bread?

  3. Wow Angie, this could be so much fun! Graham crust for a lighter cheesecake... butter tart filling... sheesh, I'm not a baker and you have me wanting to try out some new things with it!! LOL What about "Chex" mix... that could be a whole new ballgame!

As for pie crust, If the flavour is fairly strong, you could get away with a couple tablespoons in the six-cup flour batch I make... I don't think I'd use it for a double-crust recipe though since your shortening or butter has to be cold and really hard to work well...

PS... if one day you decide to give pastry crust a go... I have a tutorial on my blog, and would be honoured if you gave it a try and let me know if the steps worked out well for you... (delete this line when you verifiy the post!!)

    1. I don't know if I'm not computer savvy enough, but I couldn't delete that last line. I would love to try and make your pie crust, but just to let you know, me and pie crust don't get along....I love a challenge though.
