MOM'S BEST: Veggie Dip

What do you do when you have a craving for one of your childhood favorites?

Ha, you make it, of course.

My mom made the best veggie dip ever. Her veggie dip would put the store-bought versions out of business in a heartbeat.

I headed to the refrigerator to make sure I had everything I needed.

I knew I had sour cream, but the mayonnaise, that one was in question.

I found out that I didn't have enough mayonnaise for a full recipe, so I adjusted.

At least I got a half recipe out of the deal.

My craving is satisfied!! (and I am reminded of a trip to the grocery store for more mayonnaise)
This veggie dip is the most amazing food topper.

What I mean by that is, it is good on:

Fresh cold veggies (green pepper, red pepper, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, celery, cucumbers, etc...)

Grilled Steak (yes, grilled steak. That was my favorite way to use it. Dip my steak pieces in it and I was sent to Heaven).

Baked Potato

Hard Boiled Eggs

Pot Roast

I have even spread it on my ham sandwiches

Tomatoes

Pork Chops

Chicken (wings)

The list could be endless....

MOM'S BEST: Veggie Dip

1 pt. Real mayonnaise
3 TBS dried parsley flakes (opt)
1 pt. sour cream
3 TBS minced onion
1 TBS dill weed
1 TBS Lawry's season salt
1 TBS Accent
4 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
6 drops Tabasco sauce

Stir all ingredients together. It is best to let it sit in the refrigerator for a while or overnight.

Good Luck~Happy Eating~Enjoy

    1. It is a flavor enhancer that is found in the spice section at the grocery store.
