Coffee Maker
I am not one to criticize a product, but I was in search of a new coffee maker. When I went shopping for my new coffee maker this is what I had in mind, "I want to keep up with the times and buy the product that is hottest on the market." The new thermal carafe coffee maker is the biggest thing on the market right now as far as coffee makers go. "I have to have one of these!!"
I bought my new thermal pot coffee maker and bragged all the way home, "Ha, I am now the owner of a thermal pot coffee maker. I can't wait to use it. I know I am just going to love this, because everyone else does." This coffee maker is a Food Network product. "It has got to be the best; right?" I got home with new coffee maker under my arm, and the first thing I did was brewed a pot (thermal pot) of coffee. "MMMMM, this is the best coffee I have ever had...." This model comes equipped with the timer function, which I love and need. I used my "best Food Network" product for a week, complaining every day that my coffee was not staying (thermal pot) hot enough. I turned to my faithful Facebook network to try and find some feedback on the new awesome thermal pot coffee makers. Some feedback that I received was, "I run hot water in my thermal pot and my coffee stays hot for hours." Ok, so every time I want to make coffee I have to run hot water in the pot to heat up the thermal pot, after using cold to fill the coffee maker....HHMMMM, sounds like a hassle to me. And what about the timer function? Is there going to be a ghostly coffee person to make sure that hot water gets ran in my thermal pot before it brews automatically? I finally gave up on the awesome thermal pot rave and went (my old style glass pot) and bought a glass pot coffee maker.
This is my new (old style glass pot) coffee maker. This one is a GE, and I'm sure it will not fail me. This one also comes equipped with the auto timer...."LOVE it so far!!" I am back to enjoying my hot coffee again. I guess I have to chalk this one up to a lesson learned, but I never would have known that I disliked the thermal pot coffee makers if I wouldn't have wanted to keep up with the Jones's.
I had a Quisinart (sp?) with thermal pot and it was awesome, you should not have to heat the pot up yourself. Thats what the warmer is supposed to do, could that have possible not to have been working? and yes, the thermal pot keeps you coffee hot/warm for hours, it was awesome. Maybe your purchase was defective.........?
ReplyDeleteThe one I bought was a Food Network product. Should be good, right? Maybe it was defective. After the coffe brewed, whithin fifteen to twenty minutes I could touch the hot plate with my hand and it would only be warm. The coffee in the thermal pot cooled down quickly. I gave it to Cassie, so we'll see how she likes it. I got tired of fighting with it by the time the week was up, and I went and got a different one.
